Cats And Dogs

Can cats and dogs be friends?

Louie and Larry sure think so.

Louie is a chill dog, with a warm and loving personality.

Larry is a shelter cat with a big heart and a playful disposition.

I believe a lot of Louie’s personality development came from modeling his feline mentor, Larry.

Larry was a shelter cat with a big heart and playful energy.  Larry prowled the nights and would come home exhausted and wanting to spend his days sleeping.  Louie was a great nap companion.

Larry and Louie got along exceptionally well for a cat and dog.  Larry was several years old and a distinguished gentleman and perfect feline mentor.  Louie was an impressionable young pup looking for a four-legged friend.

Larry taught Louie many life skills.

One such skill was having clean ears. Larry could be seen gently grooming Louie’s big brown soft puppy ears.  Larry would look at Louie as if to say, “Does your mom know you don’t wash?  Do you even own a washcloth?  Let me show you how a suave cat like myself looks so good.  Larry would get close lean in and lick Louie’s ears.

On late afternoons in the winter, Larry was always in the dog bed or a sunny spot and didn’t mind it one bit when Louie plopped down next to (or even on top of) him.  Larry got along with Louie better than with our other cat, who is quite an ornery creature and lived up to the stereotype of a canine-feline relationship.

Larry and Louie established an endearing friendship, and their bromance blossomed.

As with all good stories, the duo hit a “ruff” patch when a pied French Bulldog named Cosette entered the scene.  Cozy was an energetic straightforward dog that wasn’t about to play nice with a cat.  And soon she broke up the bromance.

Larry would always just lay still, rarely stir from a nap, and most importantly, NEVER competed for treats. Yeah. I bet Louie thinks of Larry often
