Juicy ripe strawberries are delicious and make a healthy snack.  As a matter of fact, when ripe in the summer, they are plentiful to found everywhere.  Strawberries are packed with lots of goodness for you and your dog’s belly.

On the whole, strawberries are a great source of:

  • Fiber – supports gut health and will help your dog feel fuller
  • Potassium -maintains muscle and nerve health and boots your dog’s energy
  • Magnesium – promotes your dog’s muscle and nerve health
  • Vitamin B 9 – much needed gastrointestinal  benefits
  • Vitamin C –  an antioxidant essential for healthy skin and your immune system

While researching the benefits of strawberries for dogs, I only found one negativity.  Consuming a large number of berries could lead to obesity.  Honestly, that could be said for all foods.  The benefits of eating strawberries include heart health, regulation of blood sugar, and cancer prevention.
