As a girl that loves her dogs,
I have a few thoughts on the matter. Dogs are under appreciated. Our furry friends sense our energy, so whenever you are sad, they sense the sadness. As a girl with dogs I have noticed this beautiful natural layer of empathy, they can love you just as much as you love them and maybe even more. Dogs have so much personality and energy, it really is not fair that they are just labeled as “pets” when they are not just man’s best friend, they are their own spirit packed with an abundance of love to give.
Dogs compliment young girls.
When you are struggling with the lock on your front door, who is already on the other side of the door waiting so patiently and yet excitedly for you? The jingle of the leash signals it is time for a walk, who has been waiting to be walked all day? And when you come home from a hard and stressful day at school, ready to have a come apart, who sits with you until the tears are dry and you are back up on your feet? Dogs are underrated.
Whatever spontaneous thought you have,
whether it is just to throw your shoes on and go to the park, or to take a wild road trip across the country, they are already at the door, waiting so nicely and patiently for you to put your coat on. As a girl with her dogs I’ve learned dogs are such a lovely part of life, they make you feel less alone, and more loved. They are examples of how to love unconditionally. Dogs deserve more love than they receive.
The experience of bonding with a dog is something all humans should experience. Learning to love a dog, take them on walks, play with them and give them treats is a satisfying and rewarding part of life. Taking care of your dog is a simple act of kindness and is a nice reminder to them that you love and appreciate them an indescribable amount. So, go pet your dog, give them that reminder that you love them.
